Biography

Jianfei Dong was trained as a mechanical engineer in China, obtained his M.Eng. in Singapore on mechatronics, and his Ph.D. degree in the Netherlands on system and control theory and applications.

During his PhD and postdoc, he mainly contributed to data-driven fault tolerant control methodologies (including system identification, fault diagnosis, and optimal control), and to the analyses of their optimality and probabilistic robustness. During his postdoc and his work in Philips Research, he applied optimal control and diagnosis methods in solid-state lighting systems and wind turbines. He has published 10 papers in top international journals, including IEEE TAC, IEEE TSP, IEEE PTL, Opt. Lett., and Opt. Express.

His current work focuses on the research and product development in the area of intelligent lighting control systems.
